Work smarter, not harder, they say, and we agree whole-heartedly; especially when it comes to maintaining a lush, green lawn during the best time of year: summer.
Beyond the basics of seeds, soil, water and sunshine, new technology is making it easier to keep a beautiful greenspace all season long. High-tech devices and systems simplify processes, encourage efficiency, minimize waste and draw on green energy sources.
To help our clients, the Mountainview Team put together a list of innovative tools meant to help care for healthy lawns. Think autonomous mowers, battery-powered trimmers, smart sprinklers and cutting-edge sensors all working together to simplify your chore list.
Mountainview recommends: high-tech lawn care tools & tricks.
Driverless robotic lawnmowers
Picture this – you’re standing on the deck, coffee in hand, watching your lawn be mowed with precision accuracy by, well, a robot. The new lines of autonomous lawn mowers are compact and equipped with GPS technology to ensure accurate grass height, full coverage and clean lines. Simple, efficient and honestly, really fun to watch.

Electric lawnmowers + tools
Battery technology is better than ever, and a range of mowers, hedge trimmers and leaf blowers are now operated by batteries instead of gasoline or frustrating plugged-in cords. Consider switching to these new technologies for no-emission lawn care paired with the same power and capacity you’re used to–the ideal choice. Our advice? Invest in a back-up battery and keep it charged and handy. That way you’ll always have enough of a charge available to finish the job at hand.

Smart Sprinkler Systems
High-tech water systems come in many forms and can be designed to suit any lawn, big or small. While features differ, each brand offers a more effective way of applying water thereby conserving water, saving money and supporting healthy growth. Low-pressure, smart sprinkler heads and in-ground tubing work together to ensure full coverage, and wi-fi enabled controllers make scheduling a breeze for a high-tech, low effort system.

Invest in Weather Sensors
A fully programmed irrigation system demands a rain/freeze sensor to accommodate rain or cold snaps automatically. With a smart sensor, your watering system will know to stay off if Mother Nature is already on the job. No tinkering, or rescheduling required.

Mountainview Hydroseeding
New technology should always make things simpler–enter, hydroseeding. A straightforward innovation in lawn care, we offer hydroseeding services for our residential and commercial clients to plant new grass quickly using a cutting-edge hydroseeder.
How does it work? Our team applies our quick-start blend of ryegrass seeds, known for their rapid germination, combined with fescue and bluegrass seeds, plus water and mulch. The hydroseeder machine allows for an even and generous application resulting in healthy new growth in about 4-6 weeks. Clients only need to do a light overseeding about six months later using seeds suited to their environment, and that’s it! Simple and effective.
