A $45 deposit fee is included with every sod pallet. This amount will be refunded upon the return of the pallet to us.
Schedule delivery on the day you plan to start laying your sod. Install day of delivery.
Please note that sod comes in 10sq ft rolls (2ft x 5ft)
Three Generations of Excellence
This isn't big-box sod. Our Kentucky bluegrass is grown on our own 750-acre farm in the Ottawa Valley and harvested fresh, not sitting in a warehouse.
Our parents founded Mountainview in partnership with our grandfather. This legacy provides us with the experience and commitment to produce the best sod possible. We're turf geeks who've been honing science and our craft for close to 50 years.
Our blend is carefully crafted from four varieties of Kentucky bluegrass. Every year, we select those with the best:

What to expect after laying
- Days 1-3: Sod settles and begins making contact with soil
- Days 7-10: New growth begins — roots anchoring
- Days 10-14: Active rooting. Avoid heavy foot traffic.
- Day 14+: Ready to mow.

Maintenance
To maintain newly installed sod, it is important to water frequently and deeply after installation, mow at a height of 2-2.5 inches and fertilize 4-6 weeks after installation with a fertilizer high in nitrogen and low in phosphorus.
Our Environmental Impact
At Mountainview, we use biologically active compost made from natural resources like pulp, spent hay, grass clippings, and chicken manure and we are completely chemical fertilizer free across both our sod production and the products we sell. We also integrate livestock rotation to fertilize and revitalize our fields naturally, all in an effort to take better care of the land while growing the best sod possible.
